Preamble
We, the body politic of the City of New Iberia, State of Louisiana, beseeching the
power of God for wisdom and judgment, do herewith establish and maintain and form
and document of government for the maintenance and enhancement of our essential human
rights, dignity and freedom. We sacrifice our individual desires to the greater good
of the community, do adopt this plan of government and Home Rule Charter.
